English Translation
Abdullah ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "When the incident of al-Harrah occurred, a man came to him and said: 'Ibn Hanzalah is taking the pledge of allegiance from people upon death.' Abdullah ibn Zayd said: 'We will never pledge to anyone upon death after the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).'"
Urdu Translation
سیدنا عبداللہ بن زید رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہجب واقعہ حرہ کا دور آیا تو ایک شخص ان کے پاس آیا اور ان سے کہا کہ حنظلہ کے بیٹے لوگوں سے موت پر بیعت لے رہے ہیں تو عبداللہ بن زید رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ ہم رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے بعد کسی سے اس شرط پر (یعنی موت پر) بیعت نہ کریں گے۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1272]
