Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ صِلَةَ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ لأَهْلِ نَجْرَانَ " لأَبْعَثَنَّ إِلَيْكُمْ رَجُلاً أَمِينًا حَقَّ أَمِينٍ ". فَاسْتَشْرَفَ لَهَا أَصْحَابُ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَبَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ.
English Translation
Hadrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated to the people of Najran: 'I shall certainly send to you a man who is truly and rightfully trustworthy.' The Companions of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) aspired (to be that person), but he sent Hadrat Abu Ubaida bin al-Jarrah (may Allah be well pleased with him).
Urdu Translation
حضرت حذیفہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اہلِ نجران سے فرمایا: میں ضرور تمہارے پاس ایک ایسا شخص بھیجوں گا جو سچ میں امانت دار ہے۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے صحابہ کو اس کی تمنا ہوئی (کہ کون اس لقب کا مستحق ہے) تو آپ نے حضرت ابوعبیدہ بن الجراح رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو بھیجا۔
