Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " إِنَّمَا الْوَلاَءُ لِمَنْ أَعْتَقَ ".
English Translation
Isma'il ibn 'Abd Allah narrated to us, he said: Malik narrated to me, from Nafi', from Hadrat Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both), that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "The wala' (right of patronage) belongs only to the one who manumits."
Urdu Translation
ہم سے اسماعیل بن عبداللہ نے بیان کیا، کہا: مجھ سے مالک نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے نافع سے، انہوں نے حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت کیا، نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: "بے شک ولاء اسی کی ہے جو آزاد کرے۔"
