حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عِيسَى، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حُصَيْنٌ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ عَطِشَ النَّاسُ يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ رَكْوَةٌ، فَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْهَا، ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ النَّاسُ نَحْوَهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " مَا لَكُمْ ". قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَيْسَ عِنْدَنَا مَاءٌ نَتَوَضَّأُ بِهِ، وَلاَ نَشْرَبُ إِلاَّ مَا فِي رَكْوَتِكَ. قَالَ فَوَضَعَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَدَهُ فِي الرَّكْوَةِ، فَجَعَلَ الْمَاءُ يَفُورُ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِهِ كَأَمْثَالِ الْعُيُونِ، قَالَ فَشَرِبْنَا وَتَوَضَّأْنَا. فَقُلْتُ لِجَابِرٍ كَمْ كُنْتُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ قَالَ لَوْ كُنَّا مِائَةَ أَلْفٍ لَكَفَانَا، كُنَّا خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ مِائَةً.
English Translation
Hadrat Jabir (may Allah be well pleased with him) states, 'On the day of al-Hudaybiyah, the people were thirsty, and the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) had a water vessel before him. He performed ablution from it. Then the people came toward him. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared: What is the matter with you? They submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! We have no water for ablution or drinking except what is in your vessel. He placed his blessed hand in the vessel, and water began gushing forth from between his fingers like a spring. We drank and performed ablution. Hadrat Jabir was asked: How many were you? He replied: Even if we had been a hundred thousand, it would have sufficed us. We were fifteen hundred.'
Urdu Translation
حضرت جابر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں: حدیبیہ کے دن لوگوں کو پیاس لگی اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے سامنے پانی کا ایک برتن تھا۔ آپ نے اس سے وضو فرمایا۔ پھر لوگ آپ کی طرف آئے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: تمہیں کیا ہوا؟ عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! وضو اور پینے کے لیے آپ کے اس برتن کے سوا ہمارے پاس کوئی پانی نہیں ہے۔ آپ نے اپنا ہاتھ مبارک برتن میں رکھا تو آپ کی انگلیوں کے درمیان سے چشمے کی طرح پانی بہنے لگا۔ ہم نے خوب پیا اور وضو کیا۔ حضرت جابر سے پوچھا گیا: تم کتنے لوگ تھے؟ فرمایا: اگر ہم ایک لاکھ بھی ہوتے تو وہ ہمیں کافی ہوتا۔ ہم پندرہ سو تھے۔
