حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَوْمَ خَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ قَامَ فَكَبَّرَ وَقَرَأَ قِرَاءَةً طَوِيلَةً، ثُمَّ رَكَعَ رُكُوعًا طَوِيلاً ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ " سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ " وَقَامَ كَمَا هُوَ، فَقَرَأَ قِرَاءَةً طَوِيلَةً وَهْىَ أَدْنَى مِنَ الْقِرَاءَةِ الأُولَى، ثُمَّ رَكَعَ رُكُوعًا طَوِيلاً وَهْىَ أَدْنَى مِنَ الرَّكْعَةِ الأُولَى، ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سُجُودًا طَوِيلاً، ثُمَّ فَعَلَ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الآخِرَةِ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ وَقَدْ تَجَلَّتِ الشَّمْسُ، فَخَطَبَ النَّاسَ، فَقَالَ فِي كُسُوفِ الشَّمْسِ وَالْقَمَرِ " إِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ، لاَ يَخْسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ، وَلاَ لِحَيَاتِهِ، فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَافْزَعُوا إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ ".
English Translation
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat ' Aisha al-Siddiqa (may Allah be well pleased with her) that on the day of the solar eclipse, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stood up, recited the Takbir, and performed a lengthy recitation (of the Quran). Then he bowed for a lengthy bowing, then raised his head and said: 'Allah hears him who praises Him,' and stood again as before, performing another lengthy recitation though shorter than the first, then another lengthy bowing shorter than the first, then a lengthy prostration. He performed the second unit of prayer in the same manner. By the time he finished with the Taslim, the sun had cleared. He then addressed the people and declared regarding the solar and lunar eclipses: These are two signs among the signs of Allah; they do not eclipse because of anyone's death or birth. So when you see them, hasten to the prayer.
Urdu Translation
حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ جس دن سورج گرہن لگا، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم (مصلّے پر) کھڑے ہوئے، تکبیر فرمائی اور لمبی قراءت فرمائی، پھر لمبا رکوع فرمایا، پھر سر اٹھایا اور «سَمِعَ اللّٰهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ» فرمایا، اور پہلے کی طرح کھڑے ہو کر دوبارہ لمبی قراءت فرمائی جو پہلی سے کم تھی، پھر لمبا رکوع فرمایا جو پہلے سے کم تھا، پھر لمبا سجدہ فرمایا۔ دوسری رکعت میں بھی اسی طرح کیا۔ پھر سلام پھیرا تو سورج صاف ہو چکا تھا۔ اس کے بعد آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے صحابہ کو خطاب فرمایا اور سورج و چاند کے گرہن کے بارے میں ارشاد فرمایا: یہ اللہ تعالیٰ کی نشانیوں میں سے دو نشانیاں ہیں، کسی کی موت یا حیات کی وجہ سے ان میں گرہن نہیں لگتا، لہٰذا جب تم انہیں دیکھو تو فوراً نماز کی طرف لپکو۔
