Badal ibn al-Muhabbar narrated to us, Shu'bah informed us, he said: al-Hakam informed me, he said: I heard Ibn Abi Layla, from whom Hadrat ' Ali (may Allah ennoble his countenance) narrated that Sayyidah Hadrat Fatimah (upon her be peace) complained of the hardship she suffered from grinding with the hand-mill. When she learned that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) had received some captives, she went to request a servant from him but did not find him. So she mentioned her need to Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat 'A'ishah Siddiqah (may Allah be well pleased with her). When the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) came, Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat 'A'ishah (may Allah be well pleased with her) mentioned it to him. He came to us and we had already gone to our beds. We wished to get up, but he stated: 'Stay where you are.' Until I felt the coolness of his blessed feet on my chest. Then he stated: 'Shall I not guide you both to something better than what you asked for? When you go to your beds, say "Allahu Akbar" thirty-four times, say "Alhamdulillah" thirty-three times, and say "SubhanAllah" thirty-three times. That is better for you than a servant.'
Urdu Translation
ہم سے بدل بن المحبر نے بیان کیا، کہا ہمیں شعبہ نے خبر دی، انہوں نے کہا مجھے حکم نے خبر دی، انہوں نے کہا میں نے ابن ابی لیلیٰ سے سنا، ان سے حضرت علی کرّم اللہ تعالیٰ وجہہ الکریم نے بیان کیا کہ سیدۂ کائنات حضرت فاطمہ علیہا السلام نے چکی پیسنے سے اپنے ہاتھوں کی تکلیف کی شکایت کی۔ انہیں خبر ملی کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس کچھ قیدی آئے ہیں۔ وہ آپ کی بارگاہ میں خادم مانگنے کے لیے حاضر ہوئیں مگر آپ موجود نہیں ملے۔ تو انہوں نے حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے اپنی حاجت بیان کی۔ پھر جب حضور نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم تشریف لائے تو حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے آپ سے اس کا ذکر کیا۔ آپ ہمارے پاس تشریف لائے اور ہم اپنے بستروں میں جا چکے تھے۔ ہم نے اٹھنا چاہا تو ارشاد فرمایا: اپنی جگہ رہو۔ یہاں تک کہ مجھے آپ کے قدموں مبارک کی ٹھنڈک اپنے سینے پر محسوس ہوئی۔ پھر ارشاد فرمایا: کیا میں تم دونوں کو وہ چیز نہ بتاؤں جو تم نے مانگی ہے اس سے بہتر ہے؟ جب تم بستر پر جاؤ تو چونتیس مرتبہ 'اللہ اکبر' کہو، تینتیس مرتبہ 'الحمد للہ' کہو، اور تینتیس مرتبہ 'سبحان اللہ' کہو۔ یہ تمہارے لیے خادم سے بہتر ہے۔
