حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ كَانَ عَمِّي يُكْثِرُ مِنَ الْوُضُوءِ، قَالَ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ أَخْبِرْنِي كَيْفَ رَأَيْتَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَتَوَضَّأُ فَدَعَا بِتَوْرٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ، فَكَفَأَ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ فَغَسَلَهُمَا ثَلاَثَ مِرَارٍ، ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ فِي التَّوْرِ، فَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْثَرَ ثَلاَثَ مَرَّاتٍ مِنْ غَرْفَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ، ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ فَاغْتَرَفَ بِهَا فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلاَثَ مَرَّاتٍ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ إِلَى الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ مَرَّتَيْنِ مَرَّتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَ بِيَدِهِ مَاءً، فَمَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ، فَأَدْبَرَ بِيَدَيْهِ وَأَقْبَلَ ثُمَّ غَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَتَوَضَّأُ.
English Translation
Hadrat Abdullah bin Zaid (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates that a man's uncle used to perform ablution with excessive water. He asked Hadrat Abdullah bin Zaid (may Allah be well pleased with him): Tell me how you saw the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) perform ablution. He called for a basin of water and tilted it over his hands, then washed them three times. Then he put his hand in the basin, rinsed his mouth, and cleaned his nose three times with one handful. Then he took a handful and washed his face three times. Then he washed both hands up to the elbows twice each. Then he took water with his hand and wiped his head — going from back to front — then washed both his feet. He then said: I saw the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) perform ablution in this manner.
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن زید رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ (ایک شخص کے) چچا بہت زیادہ پانی استعمال کر کے وضو کیا کرتے تھے۔ انہوں نے حضرت عبداللہ بن زید رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے عرض کیا: مجھے بتائیے آپ نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو کس طرح وضو فرماتے دیکھا ہے؟ انہوں نے پانی کا طشت منگوایا اور اسے اپنے ہاتھوں پر جھکایا، پھر تین بار ہاتھ دھوئے۔ پھر ہاتھ طشت میں ڈال کر ایک چلو سے کلی کی اور تین بار ناک صاف کی۔ پھر ہاتھ ڈال کر چلو لیا اور تین بار چہرہ دھویا۔ پھر کہنیوں تک دونوں ہاتھ دو دو بار دھوئے۔ پھر ہاتھ میں پانی لے کر سر کا مسح فرمایا — پیچھے لے جا کر آگے لائے — پھر دونوں پاؤں دھوئے۔ اور فرمایا: میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو اسی طرح وضو فرماتے دیکھا ہے۔
