Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَّانُ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا ارْتَحَلَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَزِيغَ الشَّمْسُ أَخَّرَ الظُّهْرَ إِلَى وَقْتِ الْعَصْرِ، ثُمَّ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَهُمَا، وَإِذَا زَاغَتْ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ ثُمَّ رَكِبَ.
English Translation
It is narrated from Hadrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him) who said: Whenever the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) began a journey before the sun declined (at noon), he would delay the Zuhr prayer until the time of Asr, then offer them together. And if the sun had already declined before he started the journey, he would offer the Zuhr prayer first and then ride.
Urdu Translation
حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم جب سورج ڈھلنے سے پہلے سفر شروع فرماتے تو ظہر کی نماز عصر کے وقت تک مؤخر فرما دیتے، پھر دونوں ملا کر پڑھتے۔ اور اگر سورج ڈھل چکا ہوتا تو پہلے ظہر پڑھتے پھر سوار ہوتے۔
