Arabic (Original)
وَحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُفَضَّلُ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ فَضَالَةَ - عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا ارْتَحَلَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَزِيغَ الشَّمْسُ أَخَّرَ الظُّهْرَ إِلَى وَقْتِ الْعَصْرِ ثُمَّ نَزَلَ فَجَمَعَ بَيْنَهُمَا فَإِنْ زَاغَتِ الشَّمْسُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرْتَحِلَ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ ثُمَّ رَكِبَ .
English Translation
Hadrat Anas b. Malik reported that when the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) set out on a journey before the sun declined (from the meridian), he delayed the noon prayer till the afternoon prayer, and then dismounted (his ride) and combined them (noon and afternoon prayers), but if the sun had declined before his setting out on a journey, he observed the noon prayer and then mounted (the ride)
Urdu Translation
مفضل بن فضالہ نے عقیل سے ، انھوں نے ابن شہاب سے اور انھوں نے حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی ، انھوں نے کہا : رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم جب سورج ڈھلنے سے پہلے کوچ کرتے تو ظہر کو اس وقت تک موخر فرماتے کہ عصر کا وقت ہوجاتا ، پھر آپ ( سواری سے ) اترتے ، دونوں نمازوں کوجمع کرتے ، اور اگر آپ کے کوچ کرنے سے پہلے سورج ڈھل جاتا تو ظہر پڑھ کر سوار ہوتے ۔
