حَدَّثَنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَال حَدَّثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ قَال حَدَّثنا شُعْبَةُ عَن عَاصِم بن عُبَيد مولى أبي رهم عَن أبي هُرَيرة أَن امرأة مرت به فوجد منها ريح عصار فقال أَبُو هُرَيرة المسجد تريدين قالت نعم قال وله تطيبت قالت نعم فقال أَبُو هُرَيرة قَالَ رَسُول اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم أيما امرأة تطيبت ثُمَّ أتت المسجد لم تقبل لها صلاة حتى تغتسل كاغتسالها من الْجَنَابَةَوَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لاَ نعلمُهُ يُرْوَى عَن أبي هُرَيرة إلاَّ من وجهين هذا أحدهما ولاَ نَعلم رواه عن عُبَيد إلاَّ عَاصِم اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم أيما امرأة تطيبت ثُمَّ أتت المسجد لم تقبل لها صلاة حتى تغتسل كاغتسالها من الْجَنَابَةَوَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لاَ نعلمُهُ يُرْوَى عَن أبي هُرَيرة إلاَّ من وجهين هذا أحدهما ولاَ نَعلم رواه عن عُبَيد إلاَّ عَاصِم
English Translation
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Jafar narrated to us, saying: Shubah narrated to us from Asim ibn Ubayd, the freed slave of Abu Ruhm, from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) that a woman passed by him and he detected the fragrance of perfume from her. Abu Hurairah said: 'Are you heading to the mosque?' She said: 'Yes.' He said: 'And you perfumed yourself for it?' She said: 'Yes.' Abu Hurairah said: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Any woman who perfumes herself and then comes to the mosque — her prayer will not be accepted until she performs ghusl (ritual bath) like her ghusl from janabah (major ritual impurity)." This hadith is not known to us to be narrated from Abu Hurairah except through two routes, this being one of them, and we do not know of anyone narrating it from Ubayd except Asim.
