حَدَّثنا روح بن حاتم أَبُو غسان حَدَّثنا معلي بن أسد حَدَّثنا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَن أَنَس أَنَّه قِيلَ لَهُ صِفْ لَنَا وُضُوءَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَدَعَا بِطَسْتٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ ثَلاثًا ثَلاثًا وَخَلَّلَ لِحْيَتَهُ وَقال هكذا رأيت رسول صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَوَضَّأُوَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَن أَنَس إلاَّ أَيُّوبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وهُو رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ لَا نَعْلَمُ حَدَّثَ عَنْهُ إلاَّ مُعَلَّى بْنُ أَسَدٍ ولاَ رَوَاهُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَن أَنَس إلاَّ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عُمَرُ بْنُ نَبْهَانَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْهُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَدَعَا بِطَسْتٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ ثَلاثًا ثَلاثًا وَخَلَّلَ لِحْيَتَهُ وَقال هكذا رأيت رسول صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَوَضَّأُوَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَن أَنَس إلاَّ أَيُّوبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وهُو رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ لَا نَعْلَمُ حَدَّثَ عَنْهُ إلاَّ مُعَلَّى بْنُ أَسَدٍ ولاَ رَوَاهُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَن أَنَس إلاَّ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عُمَرُ بْنُ نَبْهَانَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْهُ
English Translation
Ruh ibn Hatim Abu Ghassan narrated to us, Mu'alla ibn Asad narrated to us, Ayyub ibn Abdullah narrated to us, from al-Hasan, from Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him), that it was said to him: 'Describe to us the ablution of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him).' So he called for a basin and performed ablution three times each, and ran his fingers through his beard, and said: 'This is how I saw the Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) perform ablution.' We do not know anyone who narrated this hadith from al-Hasan, from Anas except Ayyub ibn Abdullah, and he is a man from the people of Basra. We do not know anyone who narrated from him except Mu'alla ibn Asad, nor anyone who narrated from al-Hasan, from Anas except this hadith. Umar ibn Nabhan narrated from al-Hasan, from him.
