English Translation
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Abu Bishr, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both), who said: A woman from Juhaynah came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: 'My mother vowed to perform Hajj but she did not perform Hajj until she died. Should I perform Hajj on her behalf?' He said: «Yes, perform Hajj on her behalf. Do you think that if your mother owed a debt, would you pay it? Fulfill the debt to Allah, for Allah is most deserving of having debts fulfilled.»
