حَدَّثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمد بْنِ سَلَمَةَ قَال حَدَّثنا الحسن بن عطية قَال حَدَّثنا قَيْسٍ عَن أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَن سَعِيد بْنِ جُبَير عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِي اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُول اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ الْعَمَلُ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ هَذِهِ الأَيَّامِ يَعْنِي أَيَّامَ الْعَشْرِ قِيلَ ولاَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالَ ولاَ الجهاد في سبيل الله اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ الْعَمَلُ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ هَذِهِ الأَيَّامِ يَعْنِي أَيَّامَ الْعَشْرِ قِيلَ ولاَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالَ ولاَ الجهاد في سبيل الله
English Translation
Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, he said: al-Hasan ibn Atiyyah narrated to us, he said: Qays narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: «There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days» — meaning the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, not even jihad in the cause of Allah?' He said: «Not even jihad in the cause of Allah, except for a man who goes out with his life and his wealth and returns with neither.»
