حَدَّثنا الحسن بن عرفة قَال حَدَّثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ عُمَر بْنِ مُوسَى عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحْيَفَةَ عَن أَبيهِ رَضِي اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أكلتُ ثَرِيدًا وَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم فَتَجَشَّأْتُ عِنْدَهُ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا جُحَيْفَةَ إِنَّ أَطْوَلَ النَّاسِ جُوعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَكْثَرُهُمْ شِبَعًا فِي الدُّنْيَا النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم فَتَجَشَّأْتُ عِنْدَهُ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا جُحَيْفَةَ إِنَّ أَطْوَلَ النَّاسِ جُوعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَكْثَرُهُمْ شِبَعًا فِي الدُّنْيَا
English Translation
Hadrat Abu Juhayfah (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: I ate tharid [a bread and meat dish] and came to the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and belched in his presence. He said: «O Abu Juhayfah, the longest people in hunger on the Day of Resurrection shall be those who ate the most to their fill in this world.»
