English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ma'mar narrated to us, he said: Muhadir - meaning Ibn Muwarri' - narrated to us, he said: al-A'mash narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn Murrah, from Abu Nasr, from Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The thickness of the earth is a journey of five hundred years. Between the uppermost earth and the lowest heaven is five hundred years. Its thickness is five hundred years. The thickness of the second is likewise. Between each of the earths is likewise. Between the uppermost earth and the heaven is five hundred years. The thickness of the heaven is five hundred years. Between the lowest heaven and the second is a journey of five hundred years, and the thickness of that heaven is five hundred years. Then every heaven is likewise until it reaches the seventh. Then between the seventh and the Throne is a journey equal to all of that combined." This hadith - we do not know it to be narrated from Abu Dharr except through this chain. Abu Nasr - I believe he is Humayd ibn Hilal, and he did not hear from Abu Dharr.
