حَدَّثَنَا غَسَّانُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ نَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ قَالَ نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الْمَوَالِي عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِذَا سَمَّيْتُمْ مُحَمَّدًا فَلَا تَضْرِبُوهُ وَلَا تَحْرِمُوهُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِذَا سَمَّيْتُمْ مُحَمَّدًا فَلَا تَضْرِبُوهُ وَلَا تَحْرِمُوهُ
English Translation
Ghassan ibn Ubaydullah narrated to us, he said: Yusuf ibn Nafi' narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi al-Mawali narrated to us, from Ubaydullah ibn Abi Rafi', from his father (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "If you name someone Muhammad, then do not beat him and do not deprive him."
