حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ قَالَ نَا الْمُقْرِئُ قَالَ نَا حَيْوَةُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو هَانِئٍ أَنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ مَالِكٍ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ثَلَاثَةٌ لَا تُسْأَلُ عَنْهُمْ رَجُلٌ فَارَقَ الْجَمَاعَةَ وَعَصَى إِمَامَهُ وَمَاتَ عَاصِيًا وَأَمَةٌ أَوْ عَبْدٌ أَبَقَ مِنْ سَيِّدِهِ فَمَاتَ وَامْرَأَةٌ غَابَ عَنْهُا زَوْجُهَا وَقَدْ كَفَاهَا أَمْرَ الدُّنْيَا فَتَبَرَّجَتْ بَعْدَهُ وَثَلَاثَةٌ لَا تُسْأَلُ عَنْهُمْ رَجُلٌ نَازَعَ اللَّهَ رِدَاءَهُ فَإِنَّ رِدَاءَهُ الْكِبْرُ وَإِزَارَهُ الْعِزَّةُ وَرَجُلٌ كَانَ فِي شَكٍّ مِنْ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ وَالْقَنُوطُ مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ثَلَاثَةٌ لَا تُسْأَلُ عَنْهُمْ رَجُلٌ فَارَقَ الْجَمَاعَةَ وَعَصَى إِمَامَهُ وَمَاتَ عَاصِيًا وَأَمَةٌ أَوْ عَبْدٌ أَبَقَ مِنْ سَيِّدِهِ فَمَاتَ وَامْرَأَةٌ غَابَ عَنْهُا زَوْجُهَا وَقَدْ كَفَاهَا أَمْرَ الدُّنْيَا فَتَبَرَّجَتْ بَعْدَهُ وَثَلَاثَةٌ لَا تُسْأَلُ عَنْهُمْ رَجُلٌ نَازَعَ اللَّهَ رِدَاءَهُ فَإِنَّ رِدَاءَهُ الْكِبْرُ وَإِزَارَهُ الْعِزَّةُ وَرَجُلٌ كَانَ فِي شَكٍّ مِنْ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ وَالْقَنُوطُ مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ
English Translation
Salamah narrated to us, he said: al-Muqri' narrated to us, he said: Haywah narrated to us, he said: Abu Hani' informed me that Amr ibn Malik informed him, from Fadalah ibn Ubayd, may Allah be well pleased with him, from the Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, who said: "There are three about whom you need not ask: a man who separated from the community and disobeyed his leader and died in disobedience; a female slave or male slave who fled from his master and died; and a woman whose husband was absent from her while he had provided for her worldly needs, and she adorned herself after his departure. And three about whom you need not ask: a man who competed with Allah regarding His garment, for His garment is pride and His lower garment is might; a man who was in doubt regarding the command of Allah; and one who despairs of the mercy of Allah."
