حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ قَالَ نَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ قَالَ نَا حَيْوَةُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو هَانِئٍ أَنَّ أَبَا عَلِيٍّ عَمْرَو بْنَ مَالِكٍ الْجَنْبِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ فَضَالَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى رَجُلًا يَدْعُو فِي صَلَاتِهِ لَمْ يَحْمَدِ اللَّهَ وَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عليه السلام عَجِلَ هَذَا فَدَعَاهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لَهُ وَلِغَيْرِهِ إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَبْدَأْ بِحَمْدِ اللَّهِ وَالثَّنَاءِ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ لِيَدَعُ بِمَا شَاءَ يَدْعُو فِي صَلَاتِهِ لَمْ يَحْمَدِ اللَّهَ وَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عليه السلام عَجِلَ هَذَا فَدَعَاهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لَهُ وَلِغَيْرِهِ إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَبْدَأْ بِحَمْدِ اللَّهِ وَالثَّنَاءِ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ لِيَدَعُ بِمَا شَاءَ
English Translation
Salamah ibn Shabib narrated to us, he said: Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Muqri' narrated to us, he said: Haywah narrated to us, he said: Abu Hani' informed me that Abu Ali Amr ibn Malik al-Janbi informed him that he heard Fadalah ibn Ubayd, may Allah be well pleased with him, say: The Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, saw a man supplicating in his prayer without praising Allah and without sending blessings upon the Prophet, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him. The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: "This one has rushed." Then the Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, called him and said to him and to others: "When any of you prays, let him begin with praising Allah and extolling Him, then let him supplicate with whatever he wishes."
