English Translation
Abu Kurayb narrated to us, he said: Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, he said: al-Awwam ibn Hawshab narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Jumhan, from the son of Abu Bakrah, from his father. Abu Bakr [al-Bazzar] said: I said 'from the son of Abu Bakrah' because Abu Kurayb said 'from Abdullah ibn Abi Bakrah,' and I do not know Abu Bakrah to have had a son named Abdullah, so I made it 'from the son of Abu Bakrah.' And Amr ibn Ali narrated to us, he said: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, he said: al-Awwam ibn Hawshab narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Jumhan, from Ubaydullah ibn Abi Bakrah, from his father, may Allah be well pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, mentioned a land called al-Basrah, near it or beside it is a place called the Tigris. They will settle there and their numbers will increase, then the children of Qantura' will come to them, and the people will split into three groups: a group that follows them, a group that turns their backs to them - and they are destroyed - and a third group that fights them, and Allah grants victory to their remnant. This hadith - we do not know anyone who narrates it from the Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, except Abu Bakrah alone. Sa'id ibn Jumhan is a well-known Basran.
