حَدَّثَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ الْخَضِرِ الْعَطَّارُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ أَبُو ضَمْرَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حَرْمَلَةَ عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّادٍ الزُّرَقِيِّ قَالَ كُنَّا نَصِيدُ بِبِئْرِ أَهَابَ وَهِيَ بِئْرٌ لَهُمْ فَأَتَانَا عُبَادَةُ بْنُ الصَّامِتِ وَقَدْ أَخَذْنَا عُصْفُورًا فَأَطْلَقَ الْعُصْفُورَ وَقَالَ أَلَمْ تَعْلَمُوا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَرَّمَ صَيْدَهَا حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ دُهْقَانٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي زَكَرِيَّا عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَاءِ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ
English Translation
Ibrahim ibn Hani' narrated to us, he said: Isma'il ibn 'Ayyash informed us, from Safwan ibn 'Amr, from Shaddad Abu 'Ammar, from Shaddad ibn Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'The wise person is one who holds himself accountable and works for what comes after death, and the helpless person is one who follows his desires and then wishfully hopes from Allah.'
