حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ أَبُو مُطَرِّفٍ الْخَزَّازُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحََّارثِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَتَعَوَّذُ يَقُولُ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ طَمَعٍ يَهْدِي إِلَى طَبْعٍ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ طَمَعٍ حَيْثُ لَا مَطْمَعَ أَوْ فِي غَيْرِ مَطْمَعٍ
English Translation
Dawud ibn Sulayman Abu Mutarrif al-Khazzaz narrated to us, he said: 'Abdullah ibn al-Harith al-Makhzumi informed us, he said: 'Abdullah ibn 'Amir informed us, from al-Walid ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, from Jubayr ibn Nufayr, from Mu'adh ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to seek refuge, saying: 'I seek refuge in You from greed that leads to a bad end, from desires that lead to misguidance, and from every trial.'
