أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عُثْمَانَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْعَاصِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْقُرَشِيُّ الْهَرَوِيُّ فِي طَرِيقِ مَكَّةَ عَلَى شَطِّ الْفُرَاتِ أنبأ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ مَنْصُورُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ثنا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سَلَمَةَ بْنَ الْأَكْوَعِ رَفَعَهُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ تَعَالَى أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا اشْتَدَّتِ الرِّيحُ يَقُولُ اللهُمَّ لَقَحًا وَلَا عَقِيمًا
English Translation
Abu Uthman Sa'id ibn al-As ibn Muhammad ibn Ali al-Qurashi al-Harawi narrated to us on the route to Makkah on the bank of the Euphrates... from Yazid ibn Abi Ubayd who said: I heard Salamah ibn al-Akwa' - tracing it [to the Prophet], God willing - that whenever the wind blew strongly, he would say: 'O Allah, [make it] fertilizing and not barren (laqahan wa la aqiman).'
