أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ أنبأ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ الطُّوسِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا بَشِيرُ بْنُ مُهَاجِرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَا نَقْضَ قَوْمٌ الْعَهْدَ قَطُّ إِلَّا كَانَ الْقَتْلُ بَيْنَهُمْ وَمَا ظَهَرَتْ فَاحِشَةٌ فِي قَوْمٍ قَطُّ إِلَّا سَلَّطَ اللهُ ﷻ عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَوْتَ وَلَا مَنَعَ قَوْمٌ الزَّكَاةَ إِلَّا حَبَسَ اللهُ عَنْهُمُ الْقَطْرَ كَذَا
English Translation
Abu Ali al-Husayn ibn Muhammad al-Rudhbari narrated to us... from Ibn Buraydah, from his father who said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'No people ever broke their covenant except that killing would be among them. No immorality ever became widespread among a people except that Allah the Almighty inflicted death upon them. And no people ever withheld zakat except that Allah withheld rain from them.' Like this.
