وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي وَأَبُو زَكَرِيَّا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالُوا ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا بَحْرُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ قَالَ قُرِئَ عَلَى ابْنِ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَكَ دَاوُدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ أَنَّ عِيَاضَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْرُجُ يَوْمَ الْعِيدَيْنِ فَيُصَلِّي فَيَبْدَأُ بِالرَّكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ يُسَلِّمُ فَيَقُومُ قَائِمًا يَسْتَقْبِلُ النَّاسَ بِوَجْهِهِ فَيُكَلِّمُهُمْ وَيَأْمُرُهُمْ بِالصَّدَقَةِ فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَضْرِبَ عَلَى النَّاسِ بَعْثًا ذَكَرَهُ وَإِلَّا انْصَرَفَ
English Translation
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz, Abu Bakr ibn al-Hasan, and Abu Zakariyya informed us... from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to go out on the day of the two Eids and pray, beginning with the two rak'ahs, then giving the salutation. He would stand facing the people, speaking to them, commanding them to give charity. If he wanted to send out an expedition, he would mention it; otherwise, he would depart.
