English Translation
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) became severely ill, Bilal came to call him for the prayer. He said: 'Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr is a tender-hearted man. If he stands in your place, he will not be able to lead the people in prayer.' He said: 'Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer.' I said to Hafsah: 'Say to him that Abu Bakr is tender-hearted.' Hafsah said it to him, and he said: 'You are like the women companions of Yusuf! Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer.'
