Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Ahmad al-Saffar al-Asbahani narrated to us by dictation, Abu Yahya Ahmad ibn Isam ibn Abd al-Majid al-Ansari al-Asbahani narrated to us, Rawh ibn Ubadah al-Qaysi narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us saying: I heard Husayn ibn Abd al-Rahman who said: "I was sitting with Sa'id ibn Jubayr when he asked: 'At what hour last night did such-and-such happen?' I said: 'Such-and-such.' He thought I had been praying, so I said: 'I was stung last night.' He said: 'Why did you not seek ruqyah?' I said: 'I heard al-Sha'bi narrating from Buraydah ibn Husayb that he said: There is no ruqyah except for the evil eye or a poisonous sting.' Sa'id ibn Jubayr then said, from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Seventy thousand of my community will enter Paradise without reckoning.' I asked: 'Who are they?' He said: 'They are those who do not seek ruqyah, do not believe in omens, do not practice augury, and they rely upon their Lord.'"
