English Translation
Abu al-Husayn ibn al-Fadl al-Qattan informed us in Baghdad, Abdullah ibn Ja'far ibn Darastawayh informed us, Ya'qub ibn Sufyan narrated to us, Muhammad ibn al-Musaffa narrated to us, Baqiyyah narrated to us, Thawr ibn Yazid narrated to me from Salih ibn Yahya ibn al-Miqdam, from his father, from his grandfather, from Khalid ibn al-Walid (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited the meat of horses, mules, donkeys, and every predatory animal with fangs." 19447: And Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami and Abu Bakr ibn al-Harith informed us, they said: Ali ibn Umar al-Hafiz informed us, Ibn Mubashshir narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Sinan al-Qattan narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Umar al-Waqidi narrated to us, Thawr ibn Yazid narrated to us, and he mentioned it with its chain with a similar meaning, except he said: "He prohibited on the day of Khaybar." And Muhammad ibn Himyar narrated it from Thawr, from Salih, that he heard his grandfather al-Miqdam. And Umar ibn Harun al-Balkhi narrated it from Thawr, from Yahya ibn al-Miqdam, from his father, from Khalid. This is a disturbed chain, and along with its disturbance, it contradicts the hadith of the trustworthy narrators. 19448: Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Ibrahim al-Farisi informed us, Abu Ishaq Ibrahim ibn Abdullah informed us, Muhammad ibn Sulayman ibn Faris narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Bukhari said: Salih ibn Yahya ibn al-Miqdam ibn Ma'dikarib al-Kindi al-Shami, from his father - Thawr and Sulayman ibn Sulaym narrated from him - there is doubt about him. 19449: And Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami and Abu Bakr ibn al-Harith informed us, they said: Ali ibn Umar al-Hafiz informed us, Abu Sahl ibn Ziyad narrated to us, he said: I heard Musa ibn Harun say: "Salih ibn Yahya and his father are not known except through his grandfather." This is weak. And al-Waqidi claimed that Khalid ibn al-Walid accepted Islam after the conquest of Khaybar.
