أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو عَمْرِو بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْقُطَعِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى ثنا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ سِنَانِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ أَنَّ ذُؤَيْبًا أَبَا قَبِيصَةَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَبْعَثُ مَعَهُ بِالْبُدْنِ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ إِنْ عَطِبَ مِنْهَا شَيْءٌ فَخَشِيتَ عَلَيْهَا مَوْتًا فَانْحَرْهَا ثُمَّ اغْمِسْ نَعْلَهَا فِي دَمِهَا ثُمَّ اضْرِبْ بِهِ صَفْحَتَهَا وَلَا تَطْعَمْهَا أَنْتَ وَلَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ رِفْقَتِكَ
English Translation
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, Abu Amr ibn Abi Ja'far informed me, Abdullah ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Qut'i narrated to us, Abd al-A'la narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us from Qatadah from Sinan ibn Salamah from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Dhu'ayb Abu Qabisah narrated to him that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to send sacrificial camels with him, then say: "If any of them becomes incapacitated and you fear it may die, slaughter it, then dip its shoe in its blood and strike its side with it. Do not eat from it yourself, nor let anyone from your traveling companions eat from it."
