English Translation
Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, Abd al-Samad ibn Ali ibn Mukram al-Bazzaz informed us, Muhammad ibn Ghalib narrated to us, Musa ibn Isma'il narrated to us, Abu Awanah informed us, Firas informed us from Amir from al-Bara' ibn Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed one day and said: "Whoever prayed our prayer and faces our qiblah should not slaughter until he returns." Abu Burdah ibn Niyar stood up and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I did so." He said: "It is something you hastened." He said: "I have a young ewe that is better than two older ones. Shall I slaughter it?" He said: "Yes, but it will not suffice for anyone after you." Amir said: "It was the best of his two sacrifices."
