وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْحَرَشِيُّ ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ عَبَّاسِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ عَنْ أَبِي حُمَيْدٍ قَالَ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ فِي خُرُوجِهِ وَرُجُوعِهِ قَالَ حَتَّى أَشْرَفْنَا عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَ هَذِهِ طَابَةُ وَهَذَا أُحُدٌ وَهُوَ جَبَلٌ يُحِبُّنَا وَنُحِبُّهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ خَيْرَ دُورِ الْأَنْصَارِ دَارُ بَنِي النَّجَّارِ ثُمَّ دَارُ بَنِي عَبْدِ الْأَشْهَلِ ثُمَّ دَارُ بَنِي الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ ثُمَّ دَارُ بَنِي سَاعِدَةَ وَفِي كُلِّ دُورِ الْأَنْصَارِ خَيْرٌ فَلَحِقَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ فَقَالَ أَبُو أُسَيْدٍ أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ خَيَّرَ دُورَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَجَعَلْنَا آخِرَهَا دَارًا؟ فَأَدْرَكَ سَعْدٌ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ خَيَّرْتَ دُورَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَجَعَلْتَنَا آخِرَهَا فَقَالَ أَوَلَيْسَ بِحَسْبِكُمْ أَنْ تَكُونُوا مِنَ الْخِيَارِ؟
English Translation
Abu Humayd narrated: "We went out with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) on the expedition of Tabuk." He mentioned the hadith about their departure and return, saying: "When we came within sight of Madinah, the Prophet said: 'This is Tabah (Madinah), and this is Uhud — a mountain that loves us and we love it.' Then he said: 'The best households of the Ansar are the household of Banu al-Najjar, then Banu Abd al-Ashhal, then Banu al-Harith ibn al-Khazraj, then Banu Sa'idah — and in all households of the Ansar there is good.' Sa'd ibn Ubadah caught up and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, you ranked the households of the Ansar and placed us last?' He said: 'Is it not enough for you to be among the best?'"
