English Translation
Abu Sa'id informed us: Abu Abdullah narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Nasr narrated to us: Ishaq ibn Ibrahim narrated from his written records: Abd al-Razzaq informed us: Ibn Jurayj informed me: Ata told me that Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) used to treat the grandfather as a father. Some scholars from Iraq rejected Ata's attribution of this to Ali. The authentic view from Ali is that he shared inheritance between the grandfather and siblings. Perhaps he treated the grandfather as a father in another ruling. And Allah knows best.
