English Translation
Waki' told us — his father said: Sharik told us — from Abd al-Malik ibn Umayr, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The most poetic phrase spoken by the Arabs is the saying of Labid: 'Indeed everything besides Allah is vain.'"
