حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّكُمْ سَتَحْرِصُونَ عَلَى الْإِمَارَةِ وَسَتَصِيرُ حَسْرَةً وَنَدَامَةً قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ نِعْمَتِ الْمُرْضِعَةُ وَبِئْسَتِ الْفَاطِمَةُ.
English Translation
Waki' told us, who said: Ibn Abi Dhi'b and Hajjaj told us — Hajjaj said: Ibn Abi Dhi'b informed us — from Sa'id al-Maqburi, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will indeed be eager for authority, and it will become a regret and remorse" — Hajjaj said: "on the Day of Resurrection — an excellent wet-nurse it is, but a wretched weaner."
