حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ السُّدِّيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ يَرْفَعُهُ قَالَ إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ لَيَسْمَعُ خَفْقَ نِعَالِهِمْ إِذَا وَلَّوْا مُدْبِرِينَ.
English Translation
Waki' told us, from Sufyan, from al-Suddi, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah — Sufyan attributed it to the Prophet — who said: "Indeed the dead person hears the flapping of their sandals when they turn away departing."
