حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأُمَوِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صُومُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ وَأَفْطِرُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ الشَّهْرُ فَأَكْمِلُوا الْعِدَّةَ ثَلَاثِينَ.
English Translation
Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Umawi narrated to us, he said: al-Hajjaj narrated to us, from Ata, from Abu Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Fast when you see the crescent and break your fast when you see it. If the month is obscured from you, then complete the count to thirty."
