English Translation
Muhammad ibn Mus'ab narrated to us, he said: al-Awza'i narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Thabit al-Zuraqi, from Abu Hurayrah who said: We were with 'Umar ibn al-Khattab on the road to Makkah when a strong wind blew. He asked those around him about the wind. They did not answer him. When news reached me of what he had asked, I urged my riding animal until I caught up with him. I said: "O Commander of the Believers, I was told that you asked about the wind. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: 'The wind is from the mercy of Allah, so do not curse it. Ask for its good and seek refuge from its evil.'"
