حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو قَالَ أَتَى عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ فِي الْحِجْرِ فَقَالَ يَا ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ إِيَّاكَ وَالْإِلْحَادَ فِي حَرَمِ اللَّهِ فَإِنِّي أَشْهَدُ لَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ يُحِلُّهَا وَيَحُلُّ بِهِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ لَوْ وُزِنَتْ ذُنُوبُهُ بِذُنُوبِ الثَّقَلَيْنِ لَوَزَنَتْهَا قَالَ فَانْظُرْ أَنْ لَا تَكُونَ هُوَ يَا ابْنَ عَمْرٍو فَإِنَّكَ قَدْ قَرَأْتَ الْكُتُبَ وَصَحِبْتَ الرَّسُولَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فَإِنِّي أُشْهِدُكَ أَنَّ هَذَا وَجْهِي إِلَى الشَّأْمِ مُجَاهِدًا.
English Translation
Hashim told us: Ishaq - that is, Ibn Sa'id - told us: Sa'id ibn Amr told us, who said: Abdullah ibn Amr came to Ibn al-Zubayr while he was sitting in the Hijr, and said: O Ibn al-Zubayr, beware of deviating from truth in the sanctuary of Allah, for I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: A man from Quraysh will violate its sanctity and cause it to be violated through him; were his sins weighed against the sins of jinn and mankind together, they would outweigh them. He said: So take care that it not be you, O Ibn Amr, for you have read the Scriptures and accompanied the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him. He said: I call you to witness that I am setting out for Syria to wage jihad.
