English Translation
Zayd ibn Yahya al-Dimashqi told us: Abdullah ibn al-Ala' told us: I heard Salim ibn Abdullah say: I heard Abdullah ibn Umar say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'The night prayer is two by two; and when you fear the approach of dawn, then pray witr with one rak'ah, which will make your prayer odd-numbered (witr) for you.' He said: And Abdullah used to pray witr with one rak'ah.
