English Translation

Abu al-Nadr told us, Abu Aqil - who is Abdullah ibn Aqil - told us, Umar ibn Hamzah ibn Abdullah ibn Umar told us, Salim told us, from his father, who said: I sometimes recall the poet's saying while I am looking at the face of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, upon the pulpit, praying for rain, and it would not stop coming down until every waterspout gushed forth; and I recall the poet's saying: "And a fair-faced one by whose countenance the rain-clouds are besought, refuge of orphans, protection for widows" - and this is the saying of Abu Talib.
