English Translation
Ya'qub told us: my father told us, from Ibn Ishaq, who said: Abdul Rahman ibn al-Aswad ibn Yazid al-Nakha'i told me, from his uncle Abdul Rahman ibn Yazid, who said: I stood with Abdullah ibn Mas'ud before the Jamrah, and when he stood before it he said, "This, by the One besides whom there is no god, is the standing place of the one upon whom Surat al-Baqarah was revealed, on the day he threw the pebbles at it." He said: Then Abdullah ibn Mas'ud threw seven pebbles at it, saying "Allahu Akbar" with each pebble he threw, then he departed.
