English Translation
When the order was given that the copies of the Quran be changed, Ibn Mas'ud said: 'Whoever among you can conceal his copy, let him conceal it, for whoever conceals something will come with it on the Day of Resurrection.' Then he said: 'I learned seventy surahs directly from the mouth of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). Should I abandon what I took from the very mouth of the Messenger of Allah?'
