Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا رَبَاحُ بْنُ أَبِي مَعْرُوفٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ قَالَ لِي عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ لَيُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ أَهْلِهِ عَلَيْهِ.
English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn Abu Mulaikah, who heard Hadrat Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with him) say: `Umar (may Allah be well pleased with him) said to me: I heard the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) say: “The deceased is tormented because of the weeping of his family over him.`
