حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ كُنَّا نَرَى الْآيَاتِ فِي زَمَانِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَرَكَاتٍ وَأَنْتُمْ تَرَوْنَهَا تَخْوِيفًا.
English Translation
Mu'awiyah ibn Hisham told us, Sufyan told us, from al-A'mash, from Ibrahim, from Alqamah, from Abdullah, who said: We used to regard the signs [of Allah's power] in the time of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, as blessings, whereas you regard them as causes for fear.
