حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّهُ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ يُوسُفَ بِحِمْصَ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مَا هَكَذَا أُنْزِلَتْ فَدَنَا مِنْهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ فَوَجَدَ مِنْهُ رِيحَ الْخَمْرِ فَقَالَ أَتُكَذِّبُ بِالْحَقِّ وَتَشْرَبُ الرِّجْسَ لَا أَدَعُكَ حَتَّى أَجْلِدَكَ حَدًّا قَالَ فَضَرَبَهُ الْحَدَّ وَقَالَ وَاللَّهِ لَهَكَذَا أَقْرَأَنِيهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
English Translation
Abu Mu'awiyah told us: al-A'mash told us, from Ibrahim, from Alqamah, from Abdullah, that he recited Surat Yusuf at Hims, and a man said: "It was not revealed like this." So Abdullah went closer to him and found the smell of wine on him, and said: "Do you deny the truth and drink filth? I will not leave you until I flog you with the prescribed punishment." He said: So he flogged him with the prescribed punishment and said: "By Allah, this is how the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, recited it to me."
