English Translation
Sufyan told us - Sulayman said: I heard Shaqiq say: "We used to wait for Abdullah ibn Mas'ud in the mosque for him to come out to us. Yazid ibn Mu'awiyah - meaning al-Nakha'i - came to us and said: 'Shall I not go and look? If he is at home, perhaps I can bring him out to you.' So he came to us and stood before us and said: 'Your presence is indeed mentioned to me, but I do not come to you out of dislike of boring you. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to take turns giving us exhortation on certain days, out of dislike of wearying us.'"
