English Translation
Sufyan told us, from al-A'mash, from Abdullah ibn Murrah, from Abu al-Ahwas, from Abdullah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "I disavow before Allah every close friendship. Had I taken a close friend, I would have taken Abu Bakr as a close friend; but indeed your companion is the close friend of Allah, Mighty and Majestic."
