حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ يَعْنِي النَّهْدِيَّ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الطَّاعُونُ شَهَادَةٌ وَالْغَرَقُ شَهَادَةٌ وَالْبَطْنُ شَهَادَةٌ وَالنُّفَسَاءُ شَهَادَةٌ.
English Translation
Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, Sulayman al-Taymi narrated to us, from Abu Uthman, meaning al-Nahdi, from Amir ibn Malik, from Safwan ibn Umayyah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said: "The plague is martyrdom, drowning is martyrdom, abdominal disease is martyrdom, and dying in childbirth is martyrdom."
