حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ يَزِيدَ قَالَتْ كُنَّا فِيمَنْ جَهَّزَ عَائِشَةَ وَزَفَّهَا قَالَتْ فَعَرَضَ عَلَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَبَنًا فَقُلْنَا لَا نُرِيدُهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَجْمَعْنَ جُوعًا وَكَذِبًا.
English Translation
Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Sufyan informed us, from Ibn Abi al-Husayn, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, from Asma' bint Yazid, who said: We were among those who prepared and escorted Aisha (for her wedding). She said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offered us milk, and we said: "We do not want it." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do not combine hunger and lying."
