قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ : مَالِكٌ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيَّةِ أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ عَنْ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتِ سَهْلٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّةِ قَالَتْ إِنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَحْتَ ثَابِتِ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ شَمَّاسٍ وَأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ إِلَى الصُّبْحِ فَوَجَدَ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتَ سَهْلٍ عَلَى بَابِهِ بِالْغَلَسِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ هَذِهِ قَالَتْ أَنَا حَبِيبَةُ بِنْتُ سَهْلٍ فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا لَكِ قَالَتْ لَا أَنَا وَلَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ لِزَوْجِهَا فَلَمَّا جَاءَ ثَابِتٌ قَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَذِهِ حَبِيبَةُ بِنْتُ سَهْلٍ قَدْ ذَكَرَتْ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ تَذْكُرَ قَالَتْ حَبِيبَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كُلُّ مَا أَعْطَانِي عِنْدِي فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِثَابِتٍ خُذْ مِنْهَا فَأَخَذَ مِنْهَا وَجَلَسَتْ فِي أَهْلِهَا.
English Translation
He said: I recited to Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi: Malik, from Yahya ibn Sa'id, from Amrah bint Abd al-Rahman ibn Sa'd ibn Zurarah al-Ansariyyah, that she informed him from Habibah bint Sahl al-Ansariyyah, who said: She was married to Thabit ibn Qays ibn Shammas. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out for the dawn prayer and found Habibah bint Sahl at his door in the early dawn. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Who is this?" She said: "I am Habibah bint Sahl." He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "What is the matter?" She said: "Neither I nor Thabit ibn Qays can continue" - referring to her husband. When Thabit came, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him: "This is Habibah bint Sahl. She has mentioned whatever Allah willed her to mention." Habibah said: "O Messenger of Allah, everything he gave me is still with me." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to Thabit: "Take from her." So he took from her, and she went back to her family.
