English Translation
Ibn Numayr told us: Hisham told us, from his father, from Asma' bint Abi Bakr, who said: My mother came to me while she was a polytheist during the truce of Quraysh, when they made a treaty. I went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, 'O Messenger of God, my mother has come and she is desirous — shall I maintain ties with her?' He said, 'Yes, maintain ties with your mother.'
